This past Sunday was the last day of summer vacation for the girls. Or as they put it, it was their "last day of freedom!" Anyway, I was a little surprised to hear that they were both super nervous about their first day back to school. I understood Tay's nervousness, since it's her first year of high school. But Braeden!? Come on! This is my "no fear" child. So I asked her why she was nervous and her response was, "Because 2nd grade is going to be soooo hard and what if I can't do the work my teacher has me do?" I reminded her how well she did in 1st grade and how Mrs. Ponomoroff always asked her to help explain assignments to other kids who had some trouble understanding the instructions the first time around. Finally she said, "yeah, that's true." So when I picked up Brae on her second day of 2nd grade, she was so excited to tell me that Mrs. Doermann was so impressed with her ablility to cut the shape of a bell, that she asked Brae to go around and help the other students. As for Tay, she's still getting used to crossing the long campus in between classes. She ended up with one of those schedules where she has back to back classes as far away from each other as possible. Math is still her favorite subject and a math wizard she is. She told me she's the youngest one in her Algebra class, she said, "Mom, there's even SENIORS in my class!" So we spent the girls, "last day of freedom" at the beach where we saw a multitude of jelly fish! Huge jelly fish! We also went to the park, so my next blog will include pics from that adventure. Enjoy!
